STUNT advances to the final stage for NCAA Emerging Sports for Women Status
August 10, 2021
USA Cheer shares today that the NCAA Division II and III Councils will sponsor legislation to add STUNT as an emerging sport for women in their respective divisions. The legislation will be up for a member vote at the January 2022 NCAA convention. The Division I Council is expected to consider similar legislation at their meeting in October 2021.


Oklahoma Baptist University to host 2021 College STUNT National Championship

USA Cheer, the governing body for cheer in the U.S., will host the D1/D2 2021 College STUNT National Championship at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., on Friday, April 30, 2021 and Saturday, May 1, 2021. This annual event, now in its 10th edition, marks the culmination of a 2021 season significantly impacted by the ongoing COVID pandemic.

OBU Bison Clinch Conference After Three-Win Day

Sealing the deal on the conference championship, the Oklahoma Baptist’s STUNT team finished its regular season with three wins against Maryville, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma St. 18-2, 19-8, and 15-10, respectively. Those three wins also earned them the No. 2 spot in the nation.

Because of that, we have an amazing recruiting base in Northern California, not to mention STUNT is one of the most exciting sports I’ve come across in a long time.”

Ursuline College to Add STUNT 2020/2021
Jun 28, 2019 – College STUNT: Ursuline College Arrows Athletics
“We are excited to add STUNT as our 12th varsity sport. This will give female student-athletes an opportunity to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level. To date, we are one of only three colleges in the State of Ohio to offer STUNT,” said Ursuline Director of Athletics Cindy McKnight. The STUNT team at Ursuline will have the opportunity to be awarded athletic and academic scholarships. The team will hold practices and competitions in the Seidman Gymnasium located inside the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center.


Vanguard University recognizes Vanguard STUNT team in top ten moments of the year at #6

“We end the first week of the countdown with Vanguard STUNT who reached the National Championships for the first time in their two-year career. The Lions won their final 10 games of the regular season and 12 of the final 13 included overtime upsets of Sacramento State and Concordia University – Irvine. For the teams efforts, Leslie Allen was voted as the Division II Coach of the Year.”


Hanover College to Add STUNT 2020/2021
May 23, 2019 – College STUNT: Hanover College Panthers Athletics
Hanover becomes just the second school in the state of Indiana and the first NCAA Division III institution in the state to add STUNT as a varsity sport. Purdue University is the only other school in the Hoosier state currently offering the program. The Panthers will also join regional Division III institutions such as Alma (Mich.), Hiram (Ohio) and Olivet (Mich.) that compete in STUNT’s Division II/III Conference. A total of 40 schools were listed on STUNT’s website as official varsity programs for 2019.

Hiram grabs first every program victory at DU

The Hiram College STUNT program competed in their inaugural weekend at Davenport University on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers played three different games, capturing the program’s first victory over Olivet, 14-4, in their first game of the day.


Vanguard University STUNT Announces 2019 Recruiting Class

After a successful inaugural season which ended with the Blue and Gold winning three of their final four games, the squad lost four student-athletes to graduation and head coach Leslie Allen has been busy recruiting. The added roster will feature over 40 females competing in STUNT games as well as the addition of a sideline team which will focus on bringing spirit to events across campus. Vanguard STUNT is proud to announce the commitments of 24 new Lions for the spring 2019 roster.


Acalanes and Miramonte STUNT Teams Come to Fore
May 16, 2018 – High School STUNT: Lamorina Weekly
Competitive sports cheer (STUNT) will have as many as 30 girls on the roster. Sallina Boynton (Jazzlyn’s mother and former coach) filled in last year as coach at Las Lomas High School. She will be coaching next year at Acalanes along with her daughter and Caviness and appreciates the difficulty of competitive cheer: “You compete at jumping, tumbling, partner stunts and pyramids There are six levels and three different routines with each level and you have a short window to learn the routines. It’s a lot of work and a lot of fun. I’m very happy that it’s a sport.”


Anchorage School District is launching STUNT
STUNT cheer is a USA Cheer-sanctioned head-to-head sport with teams competing to win the grand champion title. Stunt cheer removes the crowd-leading element and focuses on the technical and athletic components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps, and tumbling.
