STUNT is a female sport that incorporates skills derived from cheerleading. STUNT is a sanctioned CIF sport being played across the state. If you are interested in playing STUNT, please read through the information below.

Key 2022 Dates:

  • Registration: NOW Open
  • Progression & Skill Grid Release: Available now through your USA Cheer account
  • Routines Released: December 14 (available through your USA Cheer account)
  • Season: CIF Spring Sport
  • Section Championships will be held on or before May 7, 2022:
    • Northern SectionNo Championship – League winner of the Eastern Athletic League advances to State.
    • North Coast SectionApril 30, 2022 @ Freedom High School (Hosted by CIF North Coast Section) – Section champion and runner up advances to State.
      • Bay Valley Athletic League, Diablo Athletic League, East Bay Athletic League
    • Sac Joaquin SectionApril 29-30, 2022 @ Vista Del Lago High School (Hosted by CIF Sac Joaquin Section) – Section champion and runner up advances to State.
      • Capital Valley Conference, Central California Conference, Foothill Valley League, Sierra Foothill League, Sierra Valley Conference
    • Central Coast SectionNo Championship – League winner of the Blossom Valley Athletic League advances to State.
    • Central SectionMay 5, 2022 @ Paso Robles High School (Hosted by CIF Central Section) – Section champion advances to State.
      • Fresno Unified, Central Coast Athletic Association Leauge
    • Southern SectionMay 6-7, 2022 @ San Dimas High School (Hosted by USA Cheer) – Section champion and runner up advances to State.
      • Single or double elimination seeded events, depending on number of teams and availability of the host location.
      • Only league games determine seeding for the section championship tournament. In case of a tie in seeding, head-to-head wins will break the tie.
      • Minimum of 6 teams with a maximum of 12 teams.
      • Big VIII, Coastal Canyon, Golden West League, Hacienda League, Ivy League, Marmonte League, Orange Coast League, River Valley League, Southwestern League, Sunbelt League Valley Vista League
    • San Diego SectionNo Championship – League winner of the San Diego League advances to State.
  • California State STUNT (CSC) Championship May 13-14, 2022 (Co-Sponsored by CIF and USA Cheer) @ Woodcreek High School (Roseville, CA) – 
    • Requirements:
      • Teams must have played 6+ games in league play to be considered for the State Tournament.
      • Teams must participate in their Section Championship or be their Section Champion.
      • Team selection for 2022 will be as follows
        • 1 Section Champion from each section will be invited to the State Championship.
        • 2 teams (Section Champion and Runner Up) will be invited from the North Coast Section, Sac Joaquin Section, and Southern Section.
      • The State Tournament will be a seeded event.

Additional Information for California:

  • 12-Athlete material will be played for Varsity High School teams.
  • 8-Athlete material will be played for Junior Varsity High School teams.
  • 8-Athlete material will be played for Junior High teams.

New York Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL)

NY PSAL has been playing STUNT since their pilot season in 2014! If your PSAL team is interested in joining them, visit the PSAL STUNT website for more information.
